Garry and Katherine Patrylo, Executive Directors, are both native New Yorkers born in Queens, NY. They have been married since July 2006 and are blessed with five beautiful children. Garry and Katherine also serve as Pastors of House on the Rock Church in Rockaway Beach Queens, NY.

They are passionate about reaching the lost in their community and working to help men and women build rock-solid relationships with Jesus that affects their families, churches, and community. 

Garry came to know the love and saving grace of Jesus at the young age of 9 through a Vacation Bible School program at Canarsie Full Gospel Church in Brooklyn, NY.  Through the years, Garry experienced firsthand the life-changing power of God in his entire family as strongholds of anger and addiction were broken and replaced with God’s love, joy, peace, and freedom. Garry earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology followed by a dual Masters in Elementary and Special Education from the City University of New York Queens College.  He worked for the NYC Department of Education for about 18 years while simultaneously pastoring House on the Rock Church. He has been a certified minister with the Assemblies of God since 2009. In 2017, God led Garry to leave the NYC DOE to Pastor full time. Garry is a dedicated, driven and passionate visionary leader who desires to honor God in all that he does.

Katherine is an experienced educator, in both secular and Christian settings, a musician, and a worship leader. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, and later earned her Master in Music Education from the City University of New York Queens College.  She taught music for the NYC Department of Education for about 16 years. Katherine recently received her ministerial credentials as a certified minister with the Assemblies of God in 2022. Over the years, God has continually confirmed His call on Katherine’s life to love and worship Him, love people and help people grow in their relationship with Jesus. With the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, she strives to fulfill this call daily in her home as she and Garry raise their children, in her community as a pastor, teacher, and preacher, and now at Expect Hope for expectant moms that desperately need to know the love, grace, forgiveness, and hope that comes with knowing Jesus.

Expect Hope is a ministry that is very dear to their hearts.  For this reason, Garry and Katherine were honored and humbled when they were tasked with the role of Executive Directors of Expect Hope in December 2022. As they serve the Lord in this capacity, they are committed to advancing the kingdom of God, by ministering to moms and babies to save families and generations to come for the glory of God.
